✨️A FIRST TIME PASS for Dina ✨️ A Huge Congratulations to Dina for Passing her AUTOMATIC Driving Test FIRST TIME today on the 15th November in Loughborough with 2DFs! 🚗 👏 👌 Well Done Dina, I'm Super Proud of you and how you held all your nerves together to get the result you deserved. 🙌 Dina held a US license and needed to perfect her Driving to UK test standard, getting rid of any bad habits, and getting used to the road layouts in the UK. That's both you and your husband on the road successfully and couldn't be any prouder. Through conversation we discovered what a small world it is, that my childhood best mate is infact married to her childhood neighbour / friend back in the Philadelphia, and just out of coincidence Dina moved to the UK and found me by accident, without any connection before. It made great conversation during lessons, so will definitely stay in touch. Dina followed a Satnav direction towards Mountsorrel and performed a great forward bay in Waitrose carpark. Liam came to me in the Summer after stopping learning Manual years ago. He seemed to adapt to Automatic very quickly and was the best decision he had ever made. ✨️A Well-Deserved Pass for Trish - This was your moment to Shine!✨️ A Huge Congratulations to Trish for Passing her Driving Test today on the 25th October in Loughborough 🚗 🙌 👏 This has definitely been a real emotional rollercoaster of a year. This time last year, Trish came to me after having a break from learning due to quite a negative experience over 10 years ago and was determined to give it another go. And boy, did she go for it! Through ups and downs, not giving up and sheer determination, today she succeeded with the fantastic result she deserved.🏆 We had a joke on the way to the test centre this afternoon to lighten the mood and try and remove some of the test jitters - Trish said if she didn't pass then she would buy herself a mobility scooter 😆, but am proud to say that this purchase was not needed, she now has her licence to drive independently and enjoy the freedom on the road. 🛣️ Well Done Trish, I'm Super Proud of your achievement. 😃👌 I hope you enjoy driving your car waiting for you at home, It will give you the long awaited freedom you deserve. Your emotions were definitely running high on the run-up to the test, but the extra sessions and the booster this morning must have made all the difference. You held your head up high and proved to the examiner that you are a safe and competent driver who presented a smooth, professional drive. You held everything together without letting your nerves get the better of you. Charlotte worked so hard to get to this point for a long time now. It was a long time coming after a long break from trying learning to drive a good few years ago when she had a bad experience that blew her confidence. Making the bold step last year when she came out with me was her turning point. The determination in her got her through the initial stages of driving, which were in my manual car. But more recently I suggested she tried my Automatic and didn't turn back. I think the transition to Automatic was a no-brainer for her. What a rollercoaster of a journey it has been. ✨️. What is a contraflow system? In a contraflow system, the traffic permitted to use a contraflow lane travels in the opposite direction to traffic in the other lanes on the road. They can be permanent, as in the case of contraflow bus lanes, or temporary, as in the case of road works. When approaching a contraflow system, reduce your speed in plenty of time and obey all speed limits. When driving in a contraflow system, you’ll be travelling close to oncoming traffic and sometimes in narrow lanes. You may be driving in a lane with no permanent barrier between you and the oncoming traffic. You need to also be aware that the hard shoulder may be used for traffic and that the road ahead could be obstructed by slow-moving or broken-down vehicles. Contra-flow bus lanes This sign shows that there is a contra-flow bus lane. The upward arrows indicate the number of traffic lanes available. Contra-flow bus and cycle lanes This sign indicates there is a contra-flow bus and pedal cycle lane on the road at the junction ahead. Road markings for a contra-flow lane Here is an example of road marking for a contra-flow bus lane that is also used by cyclists. Temporary contraflow lanes The white downward-pointing arrow indicates a contra-flow traffic lane separated by traffic cylinders. Where the contra-flow lane is separated by a physical barrier or a buffer lane (a lane closed to traffic), the white arrow is not shown. Where a contra-flow system operates, traffic cylinders are used to separate opposing flows of traffic in adjacent lanes.
